We are our own worst enemy, because we make ourselves unhappy by not accepting what is, by preferring things to be other than what they are. We can be at peace if we choose to want what God wants. That way, we’re always getting what we want. We will not grow in peace nor will we grow in holiness until we recognize in all things an opportunity to lives God’s will for us.
This talk, given at a Homeschooling conference, looks at the connection between music and culture – what music is specifically connected with our culture, the principles of that culture and where they come from, and finally, what ought to be our response to this culture and some of the tools that we can use to ensure our success.
Love is an act of the will, so it’s something we actually have control over. It’s not about feelings, but those feelings themselves are not love. Love is an act of the will. Being an act of the will, we can do it whenever we want. But this love has to be backed up by actions or we will soon see it is a weak love from a weak will.
